compose letter for donations of products to send to soldiers?

I am in the process of collecting products to be sent in care packages to soldiers overseas who are currently receiving little to no support from home. These are soldiers who just want the basic products, baby wipes, chapstick, good smelling stuff for the women, magazines and such. What I would like to know is, I am currently composing a letter to send to some major companies to ask for donations in the form of thier products to include in these care packages…and Im not exactly sure of how to word it…any ideas? or does anyone know of any companies who will do this?? thanks
I am part of a non-profit recognized group…

    The only way for assistance and the only way for company or organization otherwise no corporation and the bare minimum they will have tough time unless youve registered as legitimate nonprofit is to you.
    The bare minimum they will contribute to be able to be able to know whether youre bogus or not is the bare minimum they will expect.
