I have no professional experience with babies, so any little bit helps. Like how do I know why a baby is crying? How do I change a diaper? etc. THanks!

My friend needs a place to nurse her child and would prefer to do so in private. Has anyone been there that knows/remembers?

I used to work for a daycare, so I am certified in infant/child CPR and first aid, and an old co-worker wants me to watch her 6 week old baby in my home a couple of days a week. What should I charge? I have NO clue what the going rate is!

For those of you who send your babies to infant care at 2-3 months old, can I find out what your experiences are?
I have just started my 3 month old at infant care, and I don’t really feel very good about it. I am not sure whether I should send to a home care instead. Is it any better?

My sister is a stay at home mom with two teenage boys. My baby is 5 months old. I’ve asked how much she wants to charge but she won’t give an amount, although she does want paid. (Of course I have no problem paying her, but how much would you pay? Money is very tight for us but I want to be fair to her). She will be watching the baby at her home every weekday for about 8 hours each day. How much should I pay her? Thanks!

How much demand is there for good infant care in South Jersey?
I thought of becoming an infant care specialist certification and then offering home day care services.

Ember Halo asked:

i would love to be a stay at home mom, but it’s just NOT an option. so please, no comments about that.

what i’m wondering is, would it be better for a baby to have consistent care at a day care center, OR would it be better for various relatives to watch the baby various days? one, non-related day care provider, or multiple relatives?

i’m thinking day care would be more stable, and prvide a schedule, whereas someone different nearly every day of the week would be a bit chaotic for an infant, even if they are relatives…
what do you think?
WI MOM- shut up, will you? what exactly do you expect me to do, live on the street with my infant? would that be best for it??
“i love hockey”
i’m actually still pregnant. so i don’t *know* my baby yet. and it’s my first.

i’m only irritated with WIMOM because she didn’t answer the question. and hey, neither did you. so why bother posting?? unless it’s just to make snide, rude, or judgemental comments. it’s certainly not to be helpful, obviously.

Does anybody send their baby to infant day care center? I was wondering how much it costs monthly to take care for an infant for about 8 hours a day in metropolitan areas of NJ or NYC. Does anybody have any ideas or have something that can recommend? Websites would be greatly appreciated!
