My ex is court ordered to pay 50% of child care expenses. My daughter recently started preschool as a result of my employment and my ex is refusing to pay his share, claiming that he can’t afford it. He is active duty in the Air Force. I can’t afford to pay it all and need to collect his share ASAP.
I live in California. The child support office won’t collect anything other than child and spousal support, so they’re no help to me when it comes to medical or child care expenses.

I have a friend who says her child has recently become a ward of the state. I find that strange because the child is still currently residing with her mother in their home. I was wondering if it takes time before the child is placed in foster care or a juvenile detention center or if in some cases the child is allowed to stay living in their current home.

If Canada, most of Europe, ect. can do it, why can’t we? We have the lowest ranked Health Care system in a 1st world nation, we have the highest infant mortality in a 1st world nation, and even people who have insurance are put though rigorous checks for the slightest mistake which may make the business that controls their health care able to deny treatment. Why can’t we change this?

As any economist knows, healthy people pose less of an economic burden to society than unhealthy people. Not surprisingly, then, every dollar our state government spends on prenatal care for undocumented immigrants will save taxpayers of this state three dollars.

Which of the following, if true, would best explain why the statistics cited above are not surprising?

(A) The state’s taxpayers pay for prenatal care of all
immigrants.
(B) Babies born in this state to undocumented immigrant
parents are entitled to infant care benefits from the state.
(C) State benefits for prenatal care serve to promote undocumented immigration.
(D) Babies whose mothers did not receive prenatal care
are just as healthy as other babies.
(E) Pregnant women who do not receive prenatal care are
more likely to experience health problems than other pregnant women.

How many children can you have in your home before you can get a license?

not talking about child care facilities, just regular home sitting.
